Steve has lived in San Luis Obispo County since his family moved here in 1973. He attended San Luis Obispo High School, Cuesta College and Cal Poly majoring in Mechanical Engineering. During this time he worked for machinists Terry Boyer and Pat Tiffin.
Steve found a need for stainless fabrication in the restaurant industry in the 80s and later in the 90s, when there was a boom in the wine industry, he transitioned into winery fabrication. His work now includes sanitary welding of process piping as well as the use of shear and press brake on stainless sheet making sumps and hoppers over presses, aluminum welding and fabrication of catwalks for wineries.
Steve’s son, Doug joined him in his shop in 2011. It has been a rewarding experience for Steve to work with his son and to pass his knowledge onto him. Steve lives in Arroyo Grande with his wife, Chris and son, Eric. His daughter, Ellen is working on her PhD in Norway and his son, Eric will attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in the Fall of 2016.
